Jamaica Food & Drink Festival 2016

It’s a fantastic time to be a food lover . Jamaica Food and Drink Festival kicks off on October 26, 2016 at various locations in Kingston and St. Catherine. With eight gourmet events spread across five days, the event promises to seduce and excite the palates of food and beverage connoisseurs across the island.

The Events

Wednesday October 26- Pork Palooza – The name says it all. Pork lovers’ taste buds will be working overtime as Jamaica’s top chefs throw down the gauntlet in Hope Gardens to cop the title of “Top Hog”.

Thursday October 27- Crisp Fare & Bare – Event Lovers will be parking their diets at the gates of the Jamaica Pegasus before feasting on an array of fried dishes paired with the finest local and international beers.

Vintage Mondavi’s 50th Anniversary Celebration – If Fried Foods and Beer doesn’t tickle your fancy then you can join fellow wine enthusiasts at an undisclosed location for Californian Mondavi tastings and delectable cuisines. The swanky soiree promises to lift the spirits of event goers as they raise their glasses to toast 50 years of  Napa Valley’s finest ,the Robert Mondavi Winery.

Friday October 28- Stix & Stones- If Thursday’s beer and wine offerings leave you wanting more,Friday’s events will provide its own treats that will have you buzzing well into the weekend. Drive up to Mona Visitor’s Lodge  to feast on skewered meats and seafood paired with a wide selection of scotch, bourbons, gins and other non traditional spirits.

Meet Street Food Truck Festival- If you want to take it down a notch in a less formal and family friendly atmosphere then this is your go to event. Kingston’s best eateries for two days in a row will take their operations to the streets or rather the lawns of Barbican Beach . Burgers, Hot Dogs, Jerk Meats, Fro Yos and lots of scrumptious goodies will be served up from Food Truck windows on Friday then again of Saturday.

Saturday October 29- Picante – Kingston Polo Club  will host the event that promises to set your taste buds on fire (literally). Attendees will be treated  to a delectable ensemble of  spicy cuisine and an endless flow of alcoholic beverages.

Sunday October 30- Brunch at the Gallery- The festival will culminate with an afternoon brunch at the National Gallery. Experience the island’s rich art scene, revel in the works of talented painters and sculptors whilst savoring the creation of culinary artisans.

Jamaica Food & Drink Festival  is poised to be the culinary event of 2016. The event runs from October 26-30 and further cements Kingston’s status as a gastronomic destination.

Restaurant Week 2016

On the heels of the festival is Jamaica’s Annual Restaurant Week which will take place November 11-19,2016 .

Jamaica’s culinary scene will be buzzing straight into the holiday season  providing endless opportunities for food lovers to explore the island’s rich and diverse culinary landscape. Bon appétit mes chéries!
